Zero Budget LLC ("we," "us," or "our") built Zero Budget Local because we believe your financial data should stay yours — on your device, under your control. This Privacy Policy explains the very limited information we handle when you use our desktop app, mobile app, or website.
The short version: your financial data never leaves your device. We don't see it, store it, or transmit it. The only personal information we ever handle is your email address, and only if you choose to purchase the desktop app or opt in to email updates.

- The Zero Budget Local desktop app (Windows, macOS, Linux)
- The Zero Budget Local mobile app (iOS, Android)
- The Zero Budget Local website (zerobudgetlocal.com), including the purchase flow
2. Information We Do Not Collect
To be explicit about our core commitment:
- We do not collect, transmit, or access your financial data — not your budgets, accounts, transactions, or any other data you enter into the apps.
- We do not require you to create an account to use the apps.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
- We do not use tracking pixels, behavioral analytics, or cross-site tracking on our website.
3. Desktop App
The desktop app stores all your data locally on your computer. It does not require an internet connection to function. No financial information is transmitted to our servers or any third party.
If the app performs an update check or similar background network request, this will be disclosed in the app's documentation and can be disabled. Any such request does not include your financial data.
4. Mobile App
The mobile app stores all your data locally on your device. Like the desktop app, it does not transmit your financial data anywhere.
Camera Permission
The mobile app requests access to your device's camera solely to scan QR codes (for example, to transfer a license or pair with another device). The camera feed is processed entirely on-device; no images or video are captured, stored, or transmitted. We do not collect any information via the camera.
5. Website & Purchase Flow
When you purchase a license for the desktop app through our website, we collect:
- Email address — used to deliver your license key and provide purchase-related support (e.g., refund requests, license recovery).
- Payment information — handled entirely by our payment processor. We do not see or store your full card number or banking details.
Optional Email Updates
During checkout, you may opt in to receive occasional email updates about the app — things like new releases, major features, or important announcements. This is strictly opt-in. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by contacting us at support@zerobudgetlocal.com.
We do not send marketing emails to customers who have not opted in.
6. How We Use Your Email Address
Your email address is used only for the following purposes:
- Delivering your license key after purchase
- Responding to support requests you initiate
- Sending app updates and announcements, if you opted in
- Processing a refund request, if applicable
We do not use your email address for any purpose beyond what is listed above.
7. Data Retention
We retain your email address for as long as necessary to support your license (e.g., for license recovery or support). If you opted in to email updates and later unsubscribe, we will remove you from our mailing list promptly. You may also request deletion of your email address at any time by contacting us — we will honor that request unless we are required by law to retain it.
8. Third-Party Services
We use a third-party payment processor to handle purchases. That processor's privacy policy governs how it handles your payment information. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party privacy practices.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, or social tracking on our website or in our apps.
9. Children's Privacy
Our apps and website are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Security
Because your financial data never leaves your device, the primary security of your data depends on the security of your own computer or phone. We encourage you to use strong device passwords and keep your operating system updated.
For the limited email data we do hold, we take reasonable technical measures to protect it from unauthorized access.
